Chair of Economics, specialising in investment portfolio management and retirement insurance at Goethe University. Member of the German Society for insurance and financial mathematics.

Vita:
He worked in banking between 1984-1986 and studied economics at Mannheim University between 1986-1991. He completed his doctorate and post-doctoral teaching qualification in 1995 and 1999 respectively.
Publications:
Prof. Dr. Maurer has published four books and several articles for national and international newspapers.
