29 November 2017: 3rd Deloitte Brexit Lecture - "Brexit – Implications for the Financial Service Industry"

It's more than one year after the Brexit referendum. The negotiations between the EU and Great Britain are ongoing with an open end regarding implications for the Financial Service Industry.

Having said this, Theresa May only recently delivered a speech in Florence, where she proposed to find “a creative solution to a new economic relationship” between UK and the Union and proposed an additional “implementation period of around two years”.

Many scenarios are still conceivable. Most financial institutions and all regulators are already dealing with Brexit-related issues.

About the event

You might have participated in the 1st and 2nd Brexit Lecture where we already covered various aspects and potential implications of the Brexit (see links below) as you may know:

In this context, we cordially invite you to join us for our 3rd Brexit Lecture on 29 November 2017.

Deloitte and ILF welcome you to analyze and discuss the current issues. We have won a number of prominent speakers and the Institute for Law and Finance at Goethe University Frankfurt will once again be our host.

Like in our previous Brexit Lectures we would like to look at Brexit issues from different angles: Economy, regulation and law. These topics will be discussed in detail from the perspectives of various stakeholders.

Our speakers cover views of the financial services institutions encountering challenges moving inbound and/or outbound, the regulators, the lobbyists and academia.

Our – confirmed – speakers are:

  • Peter Lutz, Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht (BaFin)
  • Thorsten Höche, Bundesverband deutscher Banken
  • Karin Dohm, Deutsche Bank
  • Heinz Hilger, Standard Chartered Bank
  • Alexander Thiele, University of Göttingen
  • Dirk Zetzsche, University of Luxemburg
  • Carl Friedrich Leuschner, Deloitte Germany

After the panel and podium discussion you are invited to come into close dialogue with the speakers and the participants from the financial service industry. We will serve food and drinks.

The speeches will be delivered in English. The Chatham House Rule will apply.
