Mr. Teixeira is a lecturer at the ILF since its inception. He has been working for ten years in the European Central Bank in the areas of financial supervision and financial stability arrangements and represents the ECB in the relevant international and European policy groups.
Before the ECB, he was Researcher at the Law Department of the European University Institute, based in Florence, Italy, between 1995 and 1998.
He is a member of the Portuguese Bar Association and practised law in Lisbon between 1993 and 1995. Mr Teixeira also worked during that period as legal adviser in the Lisbon Stock Exchange on the reform of the financial market regulations.
He holds a Master Juris degree in Capital Market Law from the University of Coimbra (1995), a Law degree from the Portuguese Catholic University (1993), and is finalising his PhD dissertation.
Mr Teixeira is also active in the academic field, through publications and participation in conferences, in subjects relating to financial regulation and supervision. His latest publication is included in the volume "Cross-border banking: Regulatory challenges", Caprio, Evanoff & Kaufman (ed.), 2006.
