Peter Hoegen



Peter H. Hoegen is a German Rechtsanwalt and partner at Allen & Overy in the banking and finance department. He heads Allen & Overy's German Restructuring Group and is member of the international Restructuring Group.

Special interests

Peter Hoegen has extensive experience in the areas of general banking law, corporate lending, property financing, re-structuring and insolvency law

He advises lenders and borrowers in financial crisis or insolvency situations within the context of an inter-national and increasingly complex market, taking into account the differences in corporate cultures, including international bank syndicates as well as corporates on restructuring transactions, as well as banks and investors on non-performing loan transactions and distressed debt.

Recently, he advised on major national and international corporate reorganisations. These include the restructurings of Schefenacker group and EganaGoldpfeil and the insolvency of Schieder


Before joining Allen & Overy in 2000, he worked for more than 10 years in various roles for a major German banking group in Berlin, Luxembourg, Frankfurt and Cologne.


Peter Hoegen is (co-)author of insolvency articles and has contributed to an insolvency relating report of the World-bank.
