18 April 2016: "Conference on Banking Union" in Frankfurt

Together with the Institute for Law and Finance (ILF) of the Goethe University, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer will hold its Third Annual Conference on Banking Union in Frankfurt. With some first lessons learnt within the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM), such as the issuance of the first SREP decisions setting individual capital requirements for each bank, and with the Single Resolution Board (SRB) being fully operational since 1 January 2016, there are plenty of issues to discuss.

As in previous years we have been able to invite high-calibre speakers and decision-makers representing the SSM and SRM, which are:

  • Sean Berrigan, Deputy Director General, DG FISMA, European Commission
  • Prof Dr Jens-Hinrich Binder, University of Tubingen
  • Dr Andreas Dombret, Member of the Executive Board of the Deutsche Bundesbank
  • Mr Leonidas Fragkiadakis, Chief Executive Officer, National Bank of Greece
  • Dr Alexander Glos, Partner, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer
  • Prof Concetta Brescia Morra, Vice Chair of the Administrative Board of Review of the European Central Bank
  • Dr Gunnar Schuster, Partner, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer
  • Diederik van Wassenaer, Global Head Regulatory & International Affairs, ING Group
