Dr. Johannes Tieves is partner in Hengeler Mueller’s Frankfurt office.
Dr. Tieves advises leading German and international banks and corporations and private equity funds on syndicated loans, acquisition finance, high-yield bonds and restructurings.
Dr. Tieves was born in Düsseldorf, Germany. He studied law at the universities of Bonn and Heidelberg and did his articles (Referendarzeit) in Hamburg. After working with McKinsey he was admitted to the German Bar in 1997. He joined Hengeler Mueller in 1997 and became a partner in 2002. During his time as an associate of Hengeler Mueller he worked six month with the legal department of Deutsche Bank in Luxembourg and one year with JP Morgan in London and New York.
He has two children and enjoys skiing, hiking, claybirding and wildlife.
