European Digital Finance Programme (EDFP): Operating within PSD2, open finance and open data

20-21 January 2023
Campus Westend, House of Finance
and Online

The earliest and most relevant FinTech-related law is being revised…

The second Payment Services Directive (PSD2) facilitated significant change in the structure of provision of payment services in the EU, improving competition and consumer choice within this sector – leveraging the sharing of ‘payment accounts data’.

Learning the lessons from PSD2 the European Commission is currently reviewing the directive and pursuing its open finance agenda under the September 2020 Digital Finance Strategy.

What should practitioners and supervisors expect as a result of the review of PSD2? What are the next steps towards open finance and perhaps even open data?

… understand the policy drivers and next steps.

Explore the policy drivers and trade-offs and learn about the key elements of the PSD2 review and open finance/open data agenda. Reflect on the role of BigTech in the EU financial sector and learn about how this may also be impacting the European Union’s approach to data sharing, taking account of the flagship horizontal Digital Services and Digital Markets Acts.

This executive short course is conceived and taught by leading academics, policy makers and practitioners in this field. Get their first-hand insights and embed your knowledge through breakout sessions designed to highlight key features that may have a significant future impact on the structure of the EU financial sector.
