Position

Dr. Alexander Georgieff has many years of experience in corporate finance and mergers & acquisitions (M&A), both as an investment banker and as a lawyer. Prior to founding Georgieff Capital, he headed the investment banking business of Deutsche Bank in Germany. Previous to this, Dr. Georgieff held senior positions at JP Morgan and Schroders in London and Frankfurt and worked for private equity company 3i in London and US law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York.

Dr. Goergieff's other roles included Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of KanAm Grund Kapitalanlagegesellschaft mbH, a globally operating real estate investment manager (2006-2013), and Senior Advisor of the Management Board of SGL Group SE, a world leading supplier of carbon and graphite products (2005-2014). Dr. Georgieff is actively engaged in the global venture capital and cleantech communities. He is a member of the European Advisory Board of the Cleantech Group LLC and a board member or advisor of several venture capital financed technology companies. He has advised venture capital firms and/or funds in Europe, in the US and in Asia through his membership of investment and/or limited partner advisory committees.

Dr Georgieff is an adjunct professor at the Institute for Law and Finance at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main, where he teaches a course on public company M&A. He studied law in Germany, Switzerland and the US (LL.M.) and holds a doctor iuris degree (Dr. jur.) from the University of Cologne, where he conducted research on international antitrust related legal issues. He has published extensively on corporate finance related financial and legal topics. Dr Georgieff is admitted to practice law both in Germany and in New York. He is a German national.
