Vita

Dr Pedro Gustavo Teixeira is lecturer at the ILF since its inception. He is Director General at the ECB Banking Supervision, responsible for DG-SSM Governance and Operations. At the ECB, which he joined in 1999, he was Director-General and Secretary of the ECB Decision-Making Bodies, Director of the Secretariat to the Supervisory Board, Counsellor to the Executive Board, and Adviser on Financial Stability and Supervision. He holds a PhD in European Law from the European University Institute, as well as a Master’s degree in Law from University of Coimbra and a Law degree from the Catholic University in Portugal. His latest publication is the monograph The Legal History of the European Banking Union which provides the basis for his lectures.
