What motivated you to apply for the LL.M. Finance program at the ILF?

I applied to the LL.M. Finance program at the ILF for a number of compelling reasons. Among them is the special course design that provides a hands-on learning environment through the integration of theory and practice. Furthermore, for me, the program's thoughtfully crafted internship structure was quite impressive as it provided me with a direct path to the financial industry, which was in line with my career aim of gaining real-world experience to complement the theoretical knowledge I was studying in classes. I was drawn to this distinctive feature when I decided to apply to ILF. Now that I've completed the course, I can claim that it has improved my breadth of knowledge and given me a useful perspective on the complex interactions between law and finance.

How easy was it to network yourself in Frankfurt during your studies here at the ILF?

Networking during my studies at the ILF in Frankfurt was a very rewarding experience. Frankfurt, being a major financial hub, provided ample opportunities to connect with professionals in the finance and legal sectors. Moreover, the ILF facilitated networking events, seminars, and industry conferences, making it relatively easy to establish meaningful connections. Moreover, the diverse and international student network at ILF created a dynamic environment, fostering interactions with peers who came from various regions and professional backgrounds. This diversity not only enriched my academic experience but also expanded my professional network.

What do you remember most with fondness during your time here at the ILF?

One of the fondest memories from my time at the ILF is the thought-provoking class discussions, where we learned from the experiences of distinguished faculty members who were experts in their respective fields. I particularly enjoyed the case studies approach, which gave me the opportunity to put what I had learned in class into practice. The classroom discussions were made even more exciting when we exchanged differing viewpoints based on diverse legal systems in our respective home countries and our professional experiences, thereby widening the horizon of our discussions.

What advice would you offer ILF applicants or prospective students?

Certainly! Here's some general advice for prospective students applying to the ILF. Before applying, it would be beneficial to thoroughly research the ILF program and ensure that it aligns with your academic and career goals. Moreover, take advantage of the resources offered by the ILF, such as its website or MeetILF@WebInfoSeries, which the ILF conducts at regular intervals for prospective applicants, providing a holistic understanding of life at ILF and in Frankfurt. In addition, I would also suggest connecting with ILF alumni to gain insights into their experiences and learn from their post-graduation journeys. Finally, enjoy your time at the ILF, make lasting connections, and take advantage of the unique opportunities that studying in Frankfurt and at the ILF has to offer.
