6th Conference of Deutsche Strafverteidiger e.V. and Wirtschaftsstrafrechtliche Vereinigung e.V. in cooperation with IGW and ILF on 18 May 2018

On 18 May 2018, Wirtschaftsrechtliche Vereinigung e.V. (WisteV) and Deutsche Strafverteidiger e.V. in cooperation with the ILF hosted an event at the House of Finance which was attended by about 30 people.

The welcome speeches were made by Dr. Christian Rosnius, Lawyer at AC Tischendorf and Dr. Christian Schoop, Lawyer at DLA Piper. The first presentation on "»Frankfurter Thesen« zur Unternehmensverantwortung für Unternehmenskriminalität" was held by Dr. Matthias Jahn, Dr. Charlotte Schmitt-Leonardy and Dr. Christian Schoop.  

After a short coffee break, Prof. Dr. Richard Soyer, Professor at Johannes Kepler Universität Linz, talked about "Der aktuelle Diskussionsstand zum Unternehmensstrafrecht – Ein Überblick unter Einbeziehung der Erfahrungen in Österreich" followed by Prof. Dr. Günter Ortmann, Professor at RMI in Witten/Herdecke, who held a presentation on "Eine betriebswirtschaftliche Betrachtung zur Notwendigkeit strafrechtlicher Unternehmensverantwortung".

After the lunch break, Mr. Manfred Nötzel, former State Attorney, gave a presentation entilteld "Kann sich eine (para-)strafrechtliche Regelung in der deutschen Praxis bewähren? – Überlegungen aus richterlicher Sicht".

The last lecture of the day was held by Mr. Markus Weimann, Attorney-General in Frankfurt  and Dr. Anna Krauße-Ablaß, State Attorney. They discussed the topic  "Kann sich eine (para-)strafrechtliche Regelung in der deutschen Praxis bewähren? – eine Prognose aus Sicht der Staatsanwaltschaft".

The event ended with an interesting panel discussion of the abovementioned speakers.
