Annual "Capital Markets & Takeover Conference" with Hogan Lovells on 22 May 2025

In cooperation with the international law firm Hogan Lovells and the Deutsches Aktieninstitut, the Institute for Law and Finance (ILF) successfully hosted the annual “Capital Markets & Takeover Conference” at the Steigenberger Icon Frankfurter Hof in Frankfurt on Thursday, 22 May 2025.

At the beginning of the conference, Prof. Dr. Andreas Cahn, Managing Director, Institute for Law and Finance, Dr. Claudia Royé, Head of Capital Markets, Deutsches Aktieninstitut e.V. and Prof. Dr. Michael Schlitt, Partner, Hogan Lovells, gave the joint welcoming address.

Subseqeuntly, the following experts spoke about current issues relating to ECM, DCM and Public M&A transactions and discussed them from their perspectives:

This was followed by a panel discussion on "Übernahmen und aktivistische Aktionäre – wo geht die Reise hin?” moderated by Dr. Tim Brandi, Partner, Hogan Lovells, and the panel comprised Mr. Casten Laux, Managing Director, Head M&A Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Deutsche Bank AG, Mr. Holger Knittel, Vice Chair Investment Banking DACH, Citi, Ms. Steffi Susan Kim, Managing Director, Strategic Communications, FTI Consulting, Dr. Mesut Korkmaz, Partner, Hogan Lovells and Dr. Sebastian Biller, Counsel, Hogan Lovells.

The conference concluded with an outlook about “Aktuelle Entwicklungen bei der Strukturierung von Kapitalmarkttransaktionen” delivered by Dr. Susanne Ries, Of Counsel, Hogan Lovells, Mr. Mark Devlin, Counsel Hogan Lovells, and Mr. Alex Parkhouse, Partner, Hogan Lovells. 

At the end of the conference, all participants and speakers were invited to a get-together "Capital Markets - Talks, Drinks, Snacks & Music” on the roof top terrace of the Omniturm, where participants and speakers were able to exchange views on the presentations and topics discussed, while enjoying the fantastic view of the Frankfurt skyline.
