Capital Markets Conference 2017 on 23 February 2017 in Cooperation with Hogan Lovells

On 23 February 2017, the ILF in cooperation with the law firm Hogan Lovells hosted the Capital Markets Conference 2017 at the House of Finance, Goethe University Frankfurt am Main.

Mr. Thomas Eufinger, Department President of the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin - Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht) reported on the new law on the supervision of market abuse ("Das neue Marktmissbrauchsrecht – erste Erfahrungen aus Behördensicht"). Prof. Dr. Lars Klöhn, Humboldt University Berlin, presented the new rules of insider information in the market abuse regulation and their practical  implications ("Die Neuregelung der Insiderinformation in der Marktmissbrauch-VO – Implikationen für die Praxis"). Delisting according to the new law ("Delisting nach neuem Recht") was introduced by Dr. Lutz Angerer, Partner of Hogan Lovells.

After a brief coffee break, Dr. Bernd Singhof, Commerzbank AG,  focused on the topic of market soundings according to the market abuse regulation ("Market Soundings” – nach der neuen Marktmissbrauchsverordnung). The Executive Director of the ILF, Prof. Dr. Andreas Cahn, then gave a lecture on the issue of the loss of rights of a subsidiary in the case of a breach of duty regarding provision of information by the mother company ("Rechtsverlust der Tochter bei Mitteilungspflichtverletzung durch die Mutter?"). Last but not least, Prof. Dr. Michael Schlitt spoke about current developments in transactions, especially when going public ("Aktuelle Entwicklungen aus der Transaktionspraxis, inbesondere bei Börsengängen").

A get-together held in the foyer of House of Finance with all the speakers and more than 150 participants concluded the event.
