On 24 September 2018, upon the arrangement of the ILF, a Chinese Banking Delegation from Zhejiang Province, China visited the Agricultural Bank of China Frankfurt branch. The bank’s management board,namely General Manager Ms. Qing Liu , Managing Director Dr. Peter Regnery and Managing Director Mr. Rong Wang, greeted the delegation. Dr. Peter Regnery, accompanied by ILF alumnus Dr. Zhilin Yao, Head of Risk Controlling, gave a detailed introduction of the bank's operation in Germany. During the presentation, the bank’s business model in Germany as well as its green bond products generated lots of interest from the Chinese delegation. Ms. Liu and Mr. Wang explained in detail many operation-related matters to the Chinese delegation.
On 25 and 26 September 2018, the delegation visited the ILF in House of Finance, Goethe University Frankfurt. Dr. Rolf Friedewald, Managing Director, Ms. Shen Dee Kobbelt, Head of Programs and Marketing, and Ms. Xiaojing (Cindy) Zhang, Admissions and Marketing Manager of the LL.M. International Finance program, welcomed the group. After a brief introduction to Frankfurt, Goethe University Frankfurt, ILF and the LL.M. International Finance program, the delegation listened to a series of lectures that provided them with a broad view of the German legal and banking system. Dr. Rüdiger Litten, ILF lecturer and Partner of Fieldfisher LLP, talked about "Legal Frameworks in Germany" and Dr. Michael Weller, ILF lecturer and Former Partner of Clifford Chance LLP, presented "Investment Banking Law in Germany". Finally, Dr. Udo Milkau, Chief Information Officer, Transaction Banking of DZ Bank AG, gave a lecture on "Cooperative Banks in Germany".
The visit of the delegation of bankers from Zhejiang Province was initiated by Ms. Juxian Lu-Hesselmann who also attended the lectures on 25 September 2018 at the ILF. The ILF supports the continuous interaction between practice and theory by hosting conferences, guest lectures and information sessions for national and international members of the financial and legal industry.
