Conference on "Current Legal and Business Issues Concerning Asian-German Finance Relations" in Celebration of the ILF's 5th Anniversary of the LL.M. International Finance program on 15 May 2019

In celebration of the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the Master of Laws in International Banking, Securities and Finance ("LL.M. International Finance") program which is specially aimed at Asian graduates, the Institute for Law and Finance (ILF) held a conference on "Current Legal and Business Issues Concerning Asian-German Finance Relations" in the House of Finance on 15 May 2019.

We were very honored to have hosted 13 professors from various reputed universities in Asia who have specially flown to Frankfurt to join us at this conference and our 5th anniversary celebrations!

The LL.M. International Finance program has since its start in October 2014 been successfully attended by many graduates of well-known Asian universities and we are happy to celebrate its current success! 

Prof. Dr. Andreas Cahn, Executive Director of the Institute for Law and Finance first welcomed the 80 participants to the conference and he was followed by Dr. Philipp Paech, London School of Economics and Political Science, Department of Law, giving his views on "Regulating Fintech in a Global Market". Thereafter, Prof. Xin Tang, Tsinghua University School of Law, Beijing, China spoke about "Institutional Investor in China: Ideality and Reality" and the last lecture "Codification in Commercial Law – Insights from the German Experience" was then given by Prof. Dr. Moritz Bälz, Professor of Law at Goethe University, Managing Director of Institute for International and European Private Law and Comparative Law and Managing Director of Interdisciplinary Centre for East-Asian Studies.

The conference ended with a reception in the foyer of the House of Finance for all speakers and participants.
