On 2 and 3 December 2019, a delegation of Hanoi Law University (HLU), Vietnam, visited the ILF. The delegation led by the Rector of HLU, Dr. Tran Quang Huy, was cordially welcomed at Frankfurt International Airport and was brought to the Parliament of the State of Hesse ("Hessischer Landtag") in Wiesbaden by shuttle bus to meet the President of the State Parliament, Mr. Boris Rhein, and to tour the historic parliament building. Dr. Kambiz Ghawami, the CEO of World University Service (WUS) organized the reception at the state capital of Hesse. Recently, Mr. Boris Rhein was awarded the title of an honorary doctor by HLU.
In the afternoon, the delegation accompanied by Prof. Dr. Manfred Wandt, Executive Board Member of the ILF, Prof. Dr. Peter Reusch, Honorary Professor of GU, and Member of the Executive Board of Helvetia Germany, and Prof. Dr. Hanns-Christian Salger, Lecturer at the ILF and Partner of the law firm Bremenkamp Salger, met with the Dean of the Law School of Goethe University Frankfurt am Main (GU), Prof. Dr. Klaus Günther and signed a cooperation agreement between HLU and GU.
In the evening, the group enjoyed a reception and dinner at a Frankfurt restaurant organized in honor of the visit of the delegation members where a current Vietnamese student of the ILF, Ms. Ngoc Nguyen, also attended and shared her experience in the LL.M. International Banking, Securities and Finance Program with the professors of HLU.
The next morning, Prof. Dr. Wandt, Dr. Rolf Friedewald, Managing Director of the ILF, Ms. Shen-Dee Kobbelt, Head of Programs and Marketing as well as Prof. Salger introduced the academic programs of the ILF to the General Counsel of Vietnam in Frankfurt, Ambassador Pham Truong Giang and to the delegation of HLU. The delegation was especially interested in the LL.M. International Banking, Securities and Finance Program for Asian graduates and saw potential for a closer cooperation between HLU and ILF.
In 2015, the ILF has concluded a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with HLU and delegations sent by both parties have been visiting Frankfurt and Hanoi in the last years. After a goodbye lunch, the delegation visited the offices of the Association of Attorneys Frankfurt ("Rechtsanwaltskammer Frankfurt") organized by Prof. Salger.
