Frankfurt Börsenforum held on 9 Oct 2013

On 9 October 2013, the Deutsche Börse Group and the ILF hosted the first "Frankfurt Börsenforum" at the House of Finance of Goethe University Frankfurt am Main. Dr. Roger Müller, General Counsel, Deutsche Börse AG, and Prof. Dr. Andreas Cahn, Executive Director of the ILF, welcomed the 60 participants of this expert conference dedicated to the discussion of current legal and economic issues of the capital market and stock exchange in Frankfurt.

Dr. Reto Francioni, CEO, Deutsche Börse AG, presented the main goals and reasons to establish the "Frankfurt Börsenforum" as an ongoing communications platform concerning the legal framework, regulatory questions and policies effecting the stock exchange.

Presentations on the topic "Unfavorable Regulatory Differences between Germany/EU and the World – Influence on the Competitiveness of the Financial Market of Frankfurt am Main" were held by Dr. Thomas Schäfer, Minister of Finance of the State of Hesse, Prof. Dr. Horst Hammen, Justus Liebig-Universität Gießen, and Prof. Dr. Philipp Paech, London School of Economics. After the three presentations, the participants had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the views presented in the speeches. The discussion was led by Mr. Frank-H. Klaas, Managing Director, Deutsche Börse AG, Public Affairs.

The next "Frankfurt Börsenforum" will take place on 9 July 2014.
