On Thursday, 28 November 2024, the ILF held an informative afternoon at the Amphitheatre "Economides" of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, School of Law with Prof. Dr. Andreas Cahn and Prof. Michael Haliassos.
Prof. Dr. Andreas Cahn, the Director of the Institute for Law and Finance, who holds the Chair for Business Law, at Goethe University in Frankfurt, provided a presentation on our LL.M. Finance Program that targets law and business graduates. During the presentation, Prof. Cahn also mentioned the new Greek-German Lawyers' Association Scholarship that will be offered to one Greek candidate and which will reduce the applicable tuiton fee for the program for the selected candidate to €5.000.
Prof. Michael Haliassos, who holds the Chair for Macroeconomics and Finance at Goethe University in Frankfurt, is a Faculty Member of the Institute for Law and Finance and is also the Founding Director of the CEPR Network on Household Finance. He held a lecture titled "Greek households: Financial challenges and empowerment possibilities" in Greek and then proceeded with an interactive question and answer session with the particpants at the lecture.
The event was attended by professors of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, prospective students, ILF alumni and other interested parties. Upon the conclusion of the event, there was an opportunity for ILF personnel to address prospective queries and to catch up with our Athens based alumni!
The event concluded with a dinner at an impressive nearby Athens venue where professors from the ILF and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (see last photo and names below) were able to embark in discussions and exchange views with one another. Special guests also included lawyers and representatives from a central Greek banking institution. We sincerely thank those who attended our afternoon event and dinner. We would also like to provide a special thanks to Athens Law School for hosting the ILF at the impressive Amphitheatre "Economides".
