ILF Lecture In Cooperation with Wistev on 4 Dec 2014 "Compliance-Standards – Alternative oder doch nur Vorstufe zum Unternehmensstrafrecht"

On 4 December 2014, Wirtschaftsstrafrechtliche Vereinigung e.V. (Wistev) and the ILF hosted a lecture and discussion event on Compliance-Standards at the House of Finance, Goethe University.

Dr. Rolf Friedewald, Managing Director of the ILF, welcomed more than 60 attendees and speakers. He was followed by Dr. Christian Wagemann, Deutsche Bank AG, who opened the event by introducing the main topic and the speakers of the two panels.

The first lecture on “Evaluation von Compliance Programmen – Kriterien, Methoden, Forschungsergebnisse” was held by Prof. Dr. Kai Bussmann, Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg, Halle (Saale). Dr. Klaus Moosmayer, Siemens AG, made a passionate plead for a legislative proposal of the Bundesverband der Unternehmensjuristen e.V. (BUJ) in his lecture „Plädoyer für ein modernes Unternehmenssanktionenrecht - der BUJ Gesetzgebungsvorschlag“.

After a short break RD Klaus Herrmann, Landesamt für Steuern (Rheinland-Pfalz) opened the second panel with his presentation „Risikomanagement und Verhaltenssteuerung der Finanzverwaltung contra Umsatzsteuer-Compliance der Unternehmen“. The last speaker Verena Brandt, KPMG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft gave an insight on Certification of Compliance Management Systems in her speech „Zertifizierung von Compliance Management Systemen nach IDW PS 980“.

The conference was closed by a discussion chaired by Dr. Michael Racky of Wistev which was then followed by a reception.
