ILF Spring School “Corporate Law in Legal Consultancy Practice” from 12 to 23 March 2018

The ILF successfully conducted its Spring School “Corporate Law in Legal Consultancy Practice” from 12 to 23 March 2018. The Spring School was aimed at highly qualified advanced students of German legal studies, German law clerks and PhD students with a particular interest for Corporate Law.

During a total of ten course days, the Spring School taught principles and in-depth knowledge of the Law governing Groups of Companies, Law of Re-organizations and Tax Law regarding Re-organizations, Basic Principles of Corporate Tax Law, Establishments of Companies, M&A Transactions, Equity: Financial Basis, Measures relating to Raising and Maintenance of Capital,  Legal Structure of Companies, Corporate Governance and D&O Liability, Dispute Resolution - Case Study on Arbitration, Procedure and Organization of Shareholders’ Meetings and Restructuring of Companies. In addition, the course was complemented by a case study in M&A.

The various topics on the course days were planned and lectured by experts from top law firms such as Allen & Overy, White & Case, Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, Debevoise & Plimpton, Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson, Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft, Mayer Brown, Noerr, Shearman & Sterling, P+P Pöllath + Partners und GREENFORT Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten. By attending a number of informal get-togethers and dinner events, the selected participants had the opportunity to network with the representatives of the law firms as well as amongst themselves.
