On Saturday, 12 April 2025, our students. lecturers and staff had the unforgettable opportunity to attend a legendary basketball showdown between Skyliners Frankfurt and Telekom Baskets Bonn at the iconic Süwag Arena. With a sold-out crowd of 4,700 passionate fans, including 1,000 traveling supporters from Bonn, the atmosphere was absolutely electric.
From the opening tip-off to the dramatic final minutes, the game was a rollercoaster of emotion. Both teams delivered a thrilling performance that kept everyone on the edge of their seats until the very last buzzer. Cheers, chants, and pure excitement echoed through the arena, creating a buzzing energy that made the night truly special.
Students enjoyed with nachos, beer, and plenty of laughs as they soaked in the excitement of basketball drama at its best. Adding to the occasion, we were joined by our esteemed ILF lecturers Dr. Manuel Lorenz and Dr. Pedro Gustavo Teixeira, who shared the excitement with us from the stands. We were also honored to welcome very special guests Prof. Zhiqiang Wang, former Dean of Fudan University Law School in Shanghai and Dr. Otto Danwerth, Head of Editorial Department at Max Planck Institute for Legal History and Legal Theory.
To cap off this incredible night, we had the chance to take a group picture on the field, capturing the joy and energy of the evening in a moment we won’t forget. A huge thank you to everyone who joined and celebrated the Frankfurt Skyliners’ victory!
