ILF Students' Visit to Berlin from 24 to 26 May 2013

A hardy group of ILF students as well as Managing Director Dr. Rolf Friedewald, Admissions Manager Jennifer Schmid and Alumni Manager & Assistant to the Executive Director Alia Rahimzian braved the unsettled weather conditions and had a great trip to Berlin on 24-26 May.

On Friday, May 24, the group enjoyed a welcome at the Association of German Banks (Bundesverband  deutschen Banken (BdB)) by the Managing Director and Former Secretary for Federal and European Affairs in the State of Nordrhein-Westfalen Andreas Krautscheid, followed by an excellent presentation on the BdB given by Dr. Thorsten Höche, General Counsel of the BdB and a Member of the Board of Donors of the ILF.

Thereafter, the group toured the German Bundestag and enjoyed the skyline view from the dome before journeying to Friedrichstrasse for dinner at Nolle, a restaurant tucked under the arches of the famous Friedrichstrasse station.  The rains came on Saturday, but this did not deter our students from the historic Champions League game which was shown live on the big screen at the Brandenburger Tor.  Sunday the group dried out a bit and enjoyed sightseeing before the late train back to Frankfurt – a fun, although wet, weekend!
