As part of the presentation of the Law Firm of the Year award in the M&A category at the JUVE Awards 2025 held on 30 October at the Alte Oper Frankfurt, the ILF in cooperation with Dr. Djie- Personalberatung für Rechtsanwälte und Juristen, hosted the first “IN FRANKFURT MERGER TALKS - Aktuelle Trends in Private & Public M&A” on 29 October 2025 at the House of Finance.
Dr. Susanne Djie, Founder, Dr. Djie - Personalberatung, and Prof. Dr. Andreas Cahn, Executive Director of the ILF, opened the evening event with welcoming addresses.
The panelists of the first panel discussion on "Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten bei Übernahmeangeboten mit im Freiverkehr notierten Zielgesellschaften" comprised Dr. Nicholas Günther, Partner, Freshfields, Mr. Dirk Horcher, Partner, Baker McKenzie, Dr. Peter Klormann, Partner, Sullivan & Cromwell, Mr. Michael Neises, Partner, Heuking, Dr. Hendrik Schäfer, Head of Corporate & Commercial (Group Legal), Deutsche Börse and Dr. Roland Schmidtbleicher, Director and Associate Counsel, Deutsche Börse, and it was moderated by Dr. Andreas Meyer, Senior Counsel, Heuking.
The second panel discussion on "Einsatz von KI bei M&A Transaktionen" consisted of Dr. Angelika Bartholomäi, Counsel, K&L Gates, Ms. Nana Krähling, Senior Associate, DLA Piper, Mr. Thomas Meurer, Partner, Hengeler Mueller, Dr. Björn Simon, Partner, Luther and Dr. Cornelia Topf, Partner, Gleiss Lutz, and was again moderated by Dr. Andreas Meyer.
During both panel discussions, the audience had the opportunity to ask questions and add comments from their perspectives on the topics discussed. The event ended with a get-together.
This evening, at which representatives of the law firms nominated for the Law Firm of the Year award in the M&A category were present in the panels as well as in the audience, was a successful prelude to the presentation of the Juve Awards 2025.
