On 29 April 2015, Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH in cooperation with the ILF held the first Konzernrechtstag, a conference on the law of corporations, in Düsseldorf.
Prof. Dr. Notker Polley, Partner, Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH, and Prof. Dr. Dres. h.c. Theodor Baums, Executive Board Member of the Institute for Law and Finance, welcomed about 50 participants and opened the event by introducing the main topics and the speakers.
The first lecture on "Aktuelle Rechtssprechung und Entwicklungen im Konzernrecht" was held by Prof. Dr. Notker Polley. He was followed by Prof. Dr. Volker Rieble, LMU München, who presented on "Corporate Governance und Mitbestimmung".
The subsequent panel discussion on the topic “Die wachsende Bedeutung des Aufsichtrats der Obergesellschaft im Konzern” was chaired by Dr. Jörgen Tielmann, Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH. The panel consisted of Prof. Dr. Dres. h.c. Theodor Baums, Christine Wolff, Member of the Supervisory Board of HOCHTIEF AG, Prof. Dr. Dres. h.c. Arnold Picot, Chair of the Supervisory Board of Sartorius AG as well as Prof. Dr. Volker Rieble. The guest of honor Prof. Dr. Peter Hommelhoff, KPMG AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft, a well-known expert in the field, contributed as an unofficial panelist.
After a lunch break, Ludger Hanenberg, BaFin, opened the second panel discussion with his presentation "Legal Risk als Folge fehlender Compliance". The last speaker of the day was Dr. André Große Vorholt, Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH. He spoke about "Wirtschaftsstrafverfahren als Managementproblem".
The second panel which focused on “Compliance im Konzern” consisted of Prof. Dr. Dres. h.c. Theodor Baums, Karl-Heinz Feldmann, E.ON SE and Ludger Hanneberg. It was chaired by Dr. Eberhard Vetter, Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH.
After concluding words by both hosts, the conference participants were invited to a reception.
