Legal and Management Training Program Successfully Completed by LL.M. International Finance Students

The 4-week intensive Legal and Management Training Program from 19 February to 15 March 2024 has been successfully completed by our LL.M. International Finance students.

During the 4-week program, the students participated in an Intercultural Communication Skills course which equips themselves with soft silks for global recruitment and career development.. They also attended a Master’s Thesis-writing workshop which aims to improve their academic English research and writing skills, increase their understanding of the expectations of the (German/European) thesis requirements and arm them with the reading, writing, and research skills critical for independent research projects.

Wednesdays were arranged for company visits, namely to the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin), German Central Bank, Agricultural Bank of China and the international law firm Noerr. The students were warmly welcomed by our hosts, namely Mr. Sebastian Häßner of German Central Bank, Mr. Peter Kruschel, Head of Technical Cooperation & Bilateral Affairs of BaFin, Dr. Peter Regnery, Managing Director of Agriculture Bank of China, Dr. Till Kosche, Partner of Noerr and Dr. Yifan Zhu, Counsel of Noerr.

Through insightful presentations and Q&A sessions, the students gained a closer insight into German financial system and its regulation/supervision, as well as M&A and labour law practice in the German leading law firm.

On 8 March 2024, our visiting professor, Professor Junko Ueda, Dean of Law School, Achi University, Japan, gave the students a lecture on Japanese Corporate Law. Prof. Dr. Moritz Bälz, Professor of Law from the Faculty of Law of Goethe University, who specializes in Japanese law was also present at the lecture.

From 13 to 15 March 2024, the students went on a field trip to Munich (more about it in the next news report).
