From 23 February to 20 March 2026, our LL.M. International Finance students are attending the customized 4-week Legal and Management Training Program. During the 4 weeks, our students participated in an Intercultural Communication Skills course which equips them with soft skills for global recruitment and career development. They also attended an Academic Writing workshop which aims to improve their academic English research and writing skills, increase their understanding of the expectations of the (German/European) thesis requirements and arms them with the reading, writing, and research skills critical for independent research projects.
In addition, our students had the valuable opportunity to visit and attend special lectures held at the German Central Bank (Deutsche Bundesbank), German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin), German Stock Exchange (Deutsche Börse Group) and law firm CMS, a well-known law firm both in Germany and worldwide. Such institutional visits are always very helpful in broadening our students' scope of knowledge of the diverse aspects and activities of the working world in the fields of law and finance. We thank our hosts for giving us this opportunity.
German Central Bank (Deutsche Bundesbank):
Mr. Sabastian Häßner, representing the Economic Education Department, delivered a presentation to our students, offering them a comprehensive insight into the German Central Bank and its operations within both the national and European contexts. The presentation placed particular emphasis on maintaining the stability of the financial system.
German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin):
Mr. Peter Kruschel, Director in the International Directorate, and his colleague Mr. Dirk Weinmann, provided sharp insights on "Task and Functions and Current Challenges of BaFin.”
German Stock Exchange (Deutsche Börse):
The students were granted a visit to the exhibition and visitor gallery of the German Stock Exchange, where they were able to familiarize themselves with the institution's history and the mechanics of its operations.
CMS Law Tax Future:
Mr. Dennis Fromm, Senior Business Development Manager, presented CMS as the largest law firm in both Germany and worldwide. He then proceeded to analyze the legal market and business in Germany, as well as his own career path in the legal world. Further, Dr. Huy Do Chi delivered a brief inaugural address in both the English and Vietnamese languages.
Finally, to end off the 4-week program, our students and staff will be visiting Brussels, the capital of Belgium, from 18 to 20 March 2026 to discover more of the city which serves as a significant administrative center for the European Union!
