As part of the Intercultural Communication course of the LL.M. International Finance program, our 11 Chinese students attended a number of company excursions which were organized for them during the semester break.

On 3 March 2015, our 11 Chinese students of the LL.M. International Finance program visited Deutsche Bank, one of the most prestigious and most influential banks in the world. The students were shown the trading floor of Deutsche Bank where Mr. Arkan Aygün, Vice President - Markets Compliance Officer, gave an insight into the workings of the various sectors of the trading floor. This was then followed by a presentation of the structure and establishment of Deutsche Bank by Dr. Marco Tautges, Assistant Vice President and Counsel within the Deutsche Bank Legal Department. He also gave an overview of the issuance of bonds and the role of the bank in such transactions.

On the morning of 4 March 2015,  our students visited the Agricultural Bank of China (“ABC”), Frankfurt branch. The ABC is one of the largest state-owned banks in China and it is the 5th Chinese bank which has established a branch in Frankfurt. Dr. Peter Regenery, Managing Director of the ABC Frankfurt branch, together with Prof. Dr. Michael Lamla, Head of Corporate Banking, welcomed the Chinese students. They gave a comprehensive presentation regarding the ABC and its business in Europe. After the presentation, our students could raise questions at a Q&A session.

On the afternoon of 4 March 2015, the day-long excursion continued with the students visiting the Frankfurt office of Noerr LLP. Noerr is one of the most prestigious German law firms which has its China Desk within its Frankfurt office.
