We are pleased to announce the successful start of the academic year 2025/26 at the Institute for Law and Finance (ILF)! On 2 October 2025, we warmly welcomed 64 incoming students of our LL.M. Finance and LL.M. International Finance programs representing 26 nationalities during the Orientation Meeting held at Campus Westend of Goethe University Frankfurt am Main. The day began with a warm welcome address delivered by Prof. Dr. Andreas Cahn, ILF Executive Director, and Dr. Rolf Friedewald, ILF Managing Director. Following the opening remarks, Ms. Jennifer Schmid, Admissions and Recruitment Manager of the LL.M. Finance Program, provided an informative overview of important administrative matters, including a Q&A session. Our Information Center Manager, Mr. Thorsten Brückner, was also introduced to the students before they enjoyed a well-deserved coffee break. Our Research Associate, Dr. Carlo Pöschke, in turn also welcomed our students and briefly introduced the workshop he will be offering the students together with Dr. Mathias Hanten on the Key Concepts of German Private Law and Comparative Law. The second half of the morning then continued with a presentation by Ms. Heidi Quoika, Human Resources and Career Manager, who provided key insights into program regulations and career-related matters. In the afternoon, students of the LL.M. International Finance program met with Ms. Qionglan Xu, Admissions and Marketing Manager for the program, for a more in-depth introduction.
On 4 October 2025, students were invited to join a guided walking tour of the city of Frankfurt am Main, offering them a first glimpse into their new home for the coming year. Between 6 and 11 October 2025, all students will be attending the introductory courses “Basics of EU Law” and “Basics of Financial Mathematics” to help them build a solid foundation before the official start of regular classes on Monday, 13 October 2025.
