Transatlantic Legal Conference 2024 held in cooperation with DAJV on 1 March 2024

The German-American Lawyers´ Association (DAJV – Deutsch-Amerikanische Juristenvereinigung e.V.) and the Institute for Law and Finance of Goethe University Frankfurt hosted the Transatlantic Legal Conference 2024 in the House of Finance on 1 March 2024. The Vice-President of the DAJV, Mr. Christian Krebs, Partner of the law firm Jones Day, opened the conference by welcoming the participants. Thereafter, the participants were split into the working groups of the DAJV which covered current topics in the areas of arbitration, litigation and mediation (ALM), antitrust, regulated industries and media (ARIM), as well as mergers & acquisitions and corporate law (M&A). The working groups especially focused on the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the M&A process and on Legal Tech in law firms.

The Transatlantic Legal Conference concluded with a short speech by Mr. Norman Thather Scharpf, Consul General of the United States of America in Frankfurt am Main and a keynote speech by the Hessian Minister of Justice, Mr. Christian Heinz, at the conference dinner.  Prof. Dr. Alexander Lorz, Minister of Finance of the State of Hesse, was among the 90 plus guests at the event. Closing remarks were provided by Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Thomas Pfeiffer, President of the DAJV and Director of the Institute for Foreign and International Private and Commercial Law of the University of Heidelberg.
