Visit to the Deutsche Bundesbank & European Central Bank on 22 February 2023 by LL.M. International Finance Students

On the morning of 22 February 2023, our LL.M. International Finance students visited the German Central Bank (Deutsche Bundesbank). Mr. André Kühne, Head of Group “Lectures, Teacher Training, School and Special Events“ gave our students a detailed presentation on the essential functions and primary objectives of the German Central Bank as well as the importance of price stability under the financial framework of the EU Eurosystem.

With the insights gained from the German Central Bank, our students proceeded to the European Central Bank (ECB) in the afternoon where Dr. Volker Enseleit, Senior Lead Legal Counsel, and his colleague warmly welcomed our students. Dr. Enseleit explained the legal aspects of the ECB and our students could raise challenging questions during the Q&A session, such as the rationale behind and possibility of keeping the targeted 2% inflation rate.

Our students are thankful for the opportunity to have such interesting dialogues with the representatives of the German Central Bank and the European Central Bank that day!
