The ILF hosted an exhilarating welcome evening on 7 October 2024 for our new LL.M. students to get to know each other better as well as enhance their professional connections and career prospects. The event kicked off with a lively icebreaker session, which set a positive and energetic tone. We then moved into a brainstorming session focused on the “how,” “why,” and “what” of networking, where students shared experiences and insights on building meaningful professional relationships.
In the third part of the event, students formed six groups for targeted mini-workshops. Here, they had the invaluable opportunity to learn directly from alumni mentors, research associates and PhD candidates, as well as our managing director, Dr. Rolf Friedewald. They subsequently shared their journeys and career-defining moments. These mentors, having built impressive careers themselves, provided practical advice on advancing in the legal field. Through open dialogue and real-world examples, our students gained a clearer understanding of how to navigate their own paths to success.

We are thrilled to see our students walk away with fresh perspectives, actionable strategies, and new connections that will help them flourish in their careers.
