Dr. Oliver Heiland
Position
Dr. Oliver Heiland is Managing Director of Capital for Resilience Advisors, a boutique advisory firm based at Technology Park Heidelberg specialising in private markets advisory for asset managers, banks, institutional investors, and insurance companies. CFRA bridges the gap between investment strategy and execution — supporting clients on fund and platform governance, product structuring, and regulatory alignment across private equity, private debt, infrastructure, and venture capital. The firm's work is anchored in the conviction that resilient governance structures and sustainability alignment are not constraints on returns, but conditions for them.
Vita
Dr. Heiland brings more than 20 years of experience in private markets. He held senior leadership roles in partnerships, product development, legal, and compliance at Finance in Motion, Allianz Global Investors, and Deka. Prior to founding Capital for Resilience Advisors, he served as Chief Investor Solutions Officer and executive board member at Finance in Motion, a leading global impact asset manager with more than USD 4 billion in assets under management across emerging markets strategies in private debt, private equity, and blended finance.
A qualified lawyer, Dr. Heiland began his career in 2001 at Allen & Overy. He combines legal and financial expertise with a strong track record in private markets, impact investing, and sustainable finance, with a particular focus on aligning development and climate goals with long-term value creation for institutional investors.
Dr. Heiland has been a lecturer at ILF since 2009 — initially teaching Energy Project Finance (until 2021) and, since 2022, Sustainable Infrastructure Investments for Institutional Investors.
