Crypto Assets Regulation - Quo Vadis?

30 October 2025
House of Finance, Commerzbank Room, Ground Floor

In recent years we have witnessed dynamic developments in the crypto sector. What began as a niche topic soon attracted broader attention, was briefly linked to libertarian sphere, and has now become a central issue in international regulatory debates. We would like to contribute to this discussion and taking MiCAR as a starting point, share our perspectives. With its international focus, the ILF is the perfect place for this exchange.

Agenda

Joachim Schwerin (Principal Economist, EU-Commission) will provide the "Keynote Opening Speech on MiCAR", while Anja von Rosenstiel (Of Counsel, FIN LAW/Lecturer, Boston University School of Law) will give an "Introduction to the Digital Assets Regulatory Regime in the USA" and Carlo Pöschke (ILF) will talk about "Private Law Aspects Under MiCAR".

A panel discussion, "Digital Asset Regulation - Current Status and Outlook" moderated by Alireza Siadat (Deloitte Legal), will then follow.

The panelists are

Andrea van Almsick (General Counsel, tradias)
Peter Großkopf (CTO/COO, AllUnity)
Joachim Schwerin (Principal Economist, EU-Commission)
Anja von Rosenstiel (Of Counsel, FIN LAW/Lecturer, Boston University School of Law)
Carlo Pöschke (ILF)

We warmly encourage active audience participation.

After the panel discussion the participants are invited for a late Apéro Riche to continue the discussion one by one and to exchange thoughts.

The impulse and all discussions will be in English and the Chatham House Rule will apply.
